Lactation-Informed Infant Physical Therapy Services

First Time Visit In-Clinic (Evaluation)

INCLUDES:

Review of maternal and infant health history, birth, and breastfeeding and bottle- feeding experience to date
Identifying your specific goals for your baby with breastfeeding and bottle-feeding
Comprehensive assessment of baby, including concerns regarding asymmetries, body tension, head turn preference, head shape, tethered oral ties, and delayed gross motor skills that may be impacting successful feeding
A personalized infant PT care plan that makes sense for you and your baby
Development and education on initial home program for immediate actionable steps to start addressing concerns
Collaboration with baby’s care team and a report to appropriate providers, if needed

INCLUDES:

Re-assessment of progress and effectiveness of home program with continued development and education on progressions or modifications as appropriate to meet goals established at the initial visit
Developmentally appropriate hands-on/bodywork techniques for baby including infant massage and craniosacral therapy (CST), if indicated
Interventions to support optimal oral motor function for efficient and successful breastfeeding and bottle-feeding
Interventions to support meeting developmentally appropriate gross motor milestones (head control, rolling, sitting, transitioning, crawling) through purposeful play
Continued collaboration with baby’s care team and reports to appropriate providers, if needed
